Introduction

Kingston Corporation works in a different way to a lot of free hosts, all our sites are hosted on their own physical sub-domains and each site has it’s own database, which means that if your site goes down, it won’t take down any other sites.

Wordpress.com and Blogger have shared database and generated sub-domains, so if the database goes down on any of these sites, your site will be down whilst the database is restored.

However like a lot of free hosts, we don’t give you access to your database, but you do get FTP access, so you can access your directory on our server.

If your new to owning a website, then we’re the right choice for you to use.

FTP & Setup

Your site if your using any of the software we have on offer to you will be setup by us, you’ll recieve a email when your site is ready to go, it usually takes less than one hour.

You will need to be familiar with FTP, you will use this protocol to upload files and if you’ve chosen to host a plain HTML website to upload the entire site to your domain.

There is plenty of free FTP software out there, it’s upto you which one you use.

Donations

Donations are optional and we let you set the amount you wish to donate, based on what you think our service is worth.

Clicking on the links in the sidebar will take you to each software providers website, where you can see how each piece of software works. Each software has it’s own pros and cons, it’s just upto you which you wish to use.
